Atlantic Trust Mortgage was founded in Jacksonville, FL in 2003 when Scott Goldstein, with many years of experience in the mortgage industry, acted on his vision of owning and operating his own mortgage company. Since then, ATM has proven to be a successful and rewarding venture for him and his team of seasoned Loan Officers. Recently, 25 year industry veteran Mark Sherman also joined the team! Together with Scott and Wade, they are combining their passion and broad industry knowledge into growing a business that provides unparalleled customer service. Through their efforts they will continue to make a name for themselves, making Atlantic Trust Mortgage Jacksonville's local hometown lender of choice among customers, realtors and other industry professionals.
Mark earned his Mortgage Broker’s license in 1989 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl where he was raised and soon after moved to Jacksonville in 1991. Northeast Florida was certainly a different lifestyle and environment from South Florida. But it did not take very long to realize that he had made a great choice and that there would be plenty of opportunities here for those who worked hard and were accountable to their customers. Jacksonville is a town in which it does not take long to make friends and advance one’s career. So after a 3 year stint in the building supply industry and working with a Custom Homebuilder for a number of years thereafter, Mark re-entered the Mortgage Industry again in 1996 with Dolphin Home Mortgage in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Soon after, Mark became a top producer for Countrywide, Wells Fargo and a co-founder of Gibraltar Mortgage for the Prudential Network Realty franchise. By 2005, Mark had his own company Sherman Mortgage Group. After the crash of 2007, Mark worked primarily in the Property and Casualty Insurance business and re-entered the Mortgage Industry in 2015.

Mark was born in French West Africa. He is the son of a retired State Department Diplomat and also speaks t Spanish. He is a Graduate of Florida State University and is an accredited CE (continuing education) Instructor for FloridaRealtors.
